'Between Us' wins at Raindance

"Just Between Us"LONDON -- Rajko Grlic's tale of middle-aged infidelity "Just Between Us," a Croatian-Serbian-Slovenian co-production, required the worldwide prize in the Raindance Film Festival, which wrapped Sunday. "Stranger Things," a tale concerning the bond from a lady along with a destitute guy helmed by Eleanor Burke and Ron Eyal, clicked in the U.K. feature award in the indie fest. "Steps to start a Revolution," helmed by Ruaridh Arrow, won best docu, while Italian short "Totally reset," directed by Nicolangelo Gelormini won for film from the festival. Other those who win incorporated the U.K.'s "Monk3ys," which won for the best microbudget feature, Denmark's "Words," which nabbed best worldwide short, and "Love in the beginning Sight," which won for the best U.K. short. Those who win were introduced on Saturday evening at London's Apollo Cinema and judged with a jury that incorporated "Lock, Stock and 2 Smoking Barrels" thesp Dexter Fletcher, "Hideous Kinky" helmer Gillies Mackinnon and Brit TV presenter Alex Zane. "There have been some outstanding films over the whole selection, so choosing those who win was especially difficult this season,Inch stated fest director Elliot Grove. The fest, which went Sept. 28-March. 9, saw a 62% begin attendance year-on-year. Grove stated the surge was reflective that "hunger for independent film is thriving."
