Universal Sues Former Home Theatre COO Over Job At DineEquity

Universal Galleries Home Theatre today sued against its former chief operating officer Thomas Emrey, alleging he breached his contract and fiduciary responsibilities when he required employment as CFO at DineEquity recently. The Glendale-based firm, which works restaurant chains including IHOP and Applebee’s, seemed to be named within the suit for aiding and abetting the alleged breach. Universal claims that Emrey was under contract through May of 2012 but introduced on September 2 he were built with a job and stopped visiting work. Universal claims within the suit that Emrey understood he was departing for several weeks before he left, and knowingly left the system just like it had been preparing for 2 major DVD releases, Bridesmaids this month and Fast Five in October. The suit, filed in L.A. Superior Court, seeks award for and punitive damages in addition to legal costs.
